info NGO Relief Fund for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

Japanese NGOs are taking action for emergency assistance for the victims of the North-East Japan earthquake and tsunami that occurred on March 11, 2011.

JANIC, as a network organization of Japanese civil society groups, has established a pooled relief fund to accept "all-in-one" donations related to the earthquake and tsunami. There are currently 32 NGOs among our membership assisting victims in disaster areas through various means, such as distribution of basic necessities to evacuation shelters, cooking and providing hot meals at evacuation shelters, providing medical care and supplies, and offering counseling services. The needs of the disaster areas are changing daily and our member NGOs' relief efforts will also continue to change as they accommodate those needs.
JANIC is now accepting contributions to support the activities of these NGOs. All the donations we collect will be distributed equally among the 32 NGOs.

We deeply appreciate your concern and support for the people affected by this disaster.
For more information about the 32 NGOs and their activities, please refer to our website below.

* Please note that JANIC will retain 10% of the total amount of the donation to cover the operational cost for administering this relief fund.
