1. The Annual Meetings of IMF/WB

The Annual Meetings of International Money Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, held in the autumn of each year and have broad-ranging discussions on poverty reduction, economic development and finance. As customary, once in every three years the Annual Meetings are held outside the organizations' Washington D.C. headquarters, the 2012 meetings will convene in Tokyo from 12th to 14th October. The Annual Meetings gather members of the private sector, including representatives of member states, as well as the media, private sector, financial institutions and CSOs (civil society organizations). A number of seminars and symposiums, held during the same week, provide additional opportunities for dialogue and networking. Total attendance is expected to be approximately 10,000.

2. Civil Society Policy Forum

The Annual Meetings gather not only finance ministers, central bank governors, but also members of the private sector, the media and CSOs such as NGOs. They also convene seminars and symposiums. In the 2011 meetings, the CSO Forum was held during the same week. A number of events by CSO were also held from 21st to 24th September.
