9th East and North-East Asia Multi-Stakeholder Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 22 to 23 Oct 2025

Along with fellow civil society colleagues, JANIC will attend virtually the 9th East and North-East Asia Multi-Stakeholder Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (hereafter referred to as the Forum), to be held on 22-23 October 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The Forum serves as a platform for dialogue and collaboration among government, the private sector, civil society organizations, experts, and other stakeholders. It provides a unique opportunity to exchange information on subregional implementation efforts, highlight subregional priorities, and showcase best practices.

The Forum is an important consultation ensuring that voices from East and North-East Asia are conveyed to the 13th Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), which will be organized from 24-27 February 2026 under the theme: “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all in Asia and the Pacific”.

The APFSD convenes member States, development partners, civil society, and other stakeholders whose reflections feed into and inform the 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in New York, which reviews sustainable development progress at the global level under the same theme.

This year’s Forum will assess progress and provide recommendations on the following SDGs under review at the 13th APFSD and 2026 HLPF:

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
