The question is no longer only how to\u00a0mobilise\u00a0more resources, but how cooperation is designed, whose knowledge shapes it, and whether it is accountable to the people it is meant to serve.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) is increasingly\u00a0recognised\u00a0as an important pathway for accelerating sustainable development through solidarity, peer learning, shared\u00a0experience\u00a0and locally relevant solutions. At its best, SSTC can challenge top-down cooperation models and support more horizontal, context-responsive\u00a0and politically legitimate forms of development cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Yet this promise is not automatic. Discussions and decision-making on SSTC continue to focus\u00a0predominantly\u00a0on\u00a0governments,\u00a0development\u00a0cooperation\u00a0agencies\u00a0and international institutions. Civil society\u2019s contribution to generating community evidence, connecting local realities to policy spaces,\u00a0facilitating\u00a0peer learning, adapting solutions,\u00a0monitoring\u00a0risks\u00a0and strengthening accountability\u00a0remains\u00a0largely undocumented, under-recognised\u00a0and under-resourced.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Drawing on evidence from Forus members across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean,\u00a0Europe\u00a0and the Middle East,\u00a0<strong>the Forus 2026 SSTC\u00a0report\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0that civil society is already a significant actor within SSTC ecosystems<\/strong>.
