These pressures have worsened conflicts and humanitarian challenges, coupled with 2025 bringing further reductions in development aid. This side event will explore how African and Japanese civil society can co-create people-centred, decolonized approaches to development. It will examine how grassroots action, citizen accountability, and stronger cross-regional partnerships can accelerate implementation of the SDGs and Agenda 2063 despite global instability.
