{"id":159,"date":"2016-05-09T14:42:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-09T05:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.janic.org\/en-test\/?p=159"},"modified":"2019-04-12T16:59:46","modified_gmt":"2019-04-12T07:59:46","slug":"citizens_iseshima_summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.janic.org\/en\/2016\/05\/09\/citizens_iseshima_summit\/","title":{"rendered":"The Citizens&#8217; Ise-Shima Summit\uff0dProposals from the Citizens to the Region and the World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In accordance with the G7 Ise-Shima Summit held on 26-27 May in Mie Prefecture, civil society organizations, including NGOs and NPOs, within and outside of Japan, come together to hold &#8220;The Citizens&#8217; Ise-Shima Summit&#8221; (Citizens&#8217;Summit), with an aim to form a &#8220;Strong Civil Society&#8221;, raising proposals on both regional and international issues, in a bid to send a strong message to local, regional and international communities.<\/p>\r\n<p>In these 2 days, CSOs will present their proposals on 15 themes including Disaster Prevention\/Risk Reduction, the Implementation of SDGs , Education for Sustainable Development, Regional Inequality, Peace etc.<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;Citizen Declaration&#8221; will be adopted along with various proposals at the end of Citizen&#8217;s Summit. They will be presented to both local and international media during the &#8220;Voice from the Civic Society&#8221; event that will take place on the opening of the International Media Center in Mie Prefecture Sun Arena from 25 May onward.<\/p>\r\n<p>Join us for those interested or concerned about the contents of the proposals, or the relationships between the G7 Summit and civil societies.
