Japanese civil society members had a meeting with Takeshi Akahori<\/strong>, Deputy Director-General for Foreign Affairs (Economy), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who serves as Japan’s G7 Sherpa, and handed over the C7 Communiqu\u00e9<\/a>, which was prepared by global civil society organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning of the session, Aoi Horiuchi <\/strong>gave an overview of the C7, reported on participation in this year’s C7 Summit and handed over the C7 Communiqu\u00e9<\/a> to the G7 Sherpa. Followed ing that, policy recommendations from each working group were delivered; Climate, Energy and Environment Working Group by Jiro Adachi<\/strong>, Economic Justice Working Group by Hideki Wakabayashi<\/strong>, Humanitarian Action and Peace Working Group by Yuta Takahashi <\/strong>and Yuna Minami<\/strong>, and Sustainable Development Working Group by Masaki Inaba<\/strong>. Takeshi Akahori<\/strong> gave some responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting concluded with a request that Summit Watch Japan<\/strong>, a JANIC working group dedicated to influencing key global conferences such as G7\/G20 and UN Summits, would be pleased to meet with the Sherpa when C20 policy recommendations are completed, as Summit Watch Japan<\/strong> is working with global civil society organisations towards the G20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
